All About Me

Hello! I’d like to take a moment of your time to welcome you and introduce myself. My name is Sherik Butler. I am so excited to have you child in my class this year. You and I will be spending more time with your child in the upcoming year than any other adult. Due to this, I'd like to take this opportunitiy to tell a few things about myself - both personally and professionally.

I was born and raised in Mobile, AL I have been happily married to my husband Joey for thirteen years now. We have two children, Josh is seven and Cody is five. I have a B.S degree in Education from the Univerity of South Alabama. Having a dual certificate, I am certified to teach kindergarten through sixth grade. I was employed with the Mobile County Public School System for seven years, teaching kindergarten and second grade at O'Rourke Elementary School.

I am very interested in making this a successful and happy school year for your child. To ensure this success, we must keep the lines of communication open. I respect the fact that you know your child very well, and so when either you or your child feel worried, please contact me. Likewise, if there is an activity or project that you enjoy, please let me know. I am available at school during my planning period or after hours each day. I will be contacting you throughout the year about projects, upcoming events, the nice things I see your child doing, and problems, if any arise.
